Long Term Care Insurance

  • Long Term Care (LTC) plans provide a monthly income in the eventuality one needs care at home or a facility because of loss of independent living including if one is suffering from a cognitive impairment that endangers one’s health or safety (Alzheimer’s disease or permanent senile dementia).
  • Long Term Care benefit does not prevent recipients from receiving any government benefits that they might be entitled to.  The benefit alleviates the burden of having to pay from one’s pocket for any help required during what could be a lengthy period.
  • Like Life Insurance and Critical Illness, Long Term Care cost is primarily based on health and age.
  • Long Term Care Insurance does not interfere with Long Term Disability Insurance benefits and therefore can be used as a sort of top-up for any Long Term Disability entitlement.
